The team of the South-Siberian Botanical Garden is engaged in intensive expedition activities. The routes of the expeditions pass through the transboundary territory of the Altai Mountain Country, within Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China. In addition, foreign long-distance expeditions are carried out annually. For example, in order to collect material for the Herbarium Fund (ALTB) and take samples of living plants from nature, expeditions to Central and South Africa, Europe (Austria, Germany, France, Belgium, etc.), Japan, Australia, China, etc. have been organized.
